Garden Presbyterian Church belongs to the Korean Presbyterian Church in America (Kosin). And it is affiliated with NAPARC, North America Presbyterian and Reformed Church Council. GPC is seeking to call a part time Children pastor who will oversee and shepherd the children, pre-K to 5th grade of around 30 members.
Title: Children Pastor
Report to: Education Dept. Chair of GPC
Salary: $1,500/mo. (Usually only work on the Lord’s Day)
Responsibilities
- Lead Sunday Worship for Children
- Directly shepherd children and coach/train the teachers.
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Ordained within the Reformed Presbyterian Denominations/ Or studying at a Reformed Seminary
- Sound biblical and theological knowledge in the Reformed tradition
- Able to communicate and cooperate with the Education Dept. Chair and their parents, and other pastors
- Skills/Abilities
- Ability to clearly communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Ability and sincere heart to biblically counsel the children entrusted to him
- Ability to organize and lead the Children’s worship
- Ability to organize and plan major Children ministry events such as VBS.
- Characteristics
- Willingness to be flexible and sacrificial according to the needs of the church
- Humility/Meekness/Gentleness/Patience in working with the staff and members
- Sensitivity and adaptability to the culture of our church and community.
