Austin Korean Presbyterian Church (AKPC), PC(USA), is seeking a part time pastor for the children’s ministry. AKPC was founded in 1973 and is one of the leading Korean immigration churches in the Austin area. About 60-80 students regularly participate in the children’s ministry services and activities. The church is currently at the central part of city of Austin and will move to a new site in the northern part of Austin within the next year.

Qualification:
-
who is currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited seminary
-
who has clear understanding of evangelical gospel-centered ministry
-
who has understanding of Korean American immigration church and its cultural context
-
who can preach sermon in English fluently and communicate with their parents in Korean
-
who has a heart for children’s ministry
-
who has experience with children’s ministry over a year (preferred)
-
who has a willing heart to learn and take challenges
-
who can raise up future leaders
-
who understands appropriate ways of communicating with parents & families
-
who is willing to submit to the AKPC’s vision, and guidance of the senior pastor & the Session
Duties:
The new children’s ministry pastor will:
-
direct and lead Sunday worship services
-
prepare the Sunday school curriculum
-
manage (or train) Sunday school teachers
-
attend monthly church staff meeting and education department meeting
-
plan and conduct seasonal programs (e.g. VBS and summer camp) annually
-
participate in a rotational service of daycare at the Wednesday evening service
-
participate in seasonal church events with specific roles (e.g. children’s sermon at joint service, attending some morning prayer services)
-
raise and meet with teachers regularly and coordinate with the department director
-
conduct annual PTA meeting
-
work up to 20 hours for the duty each week
